SPECIALIZED THERAPEUTIC RIDING LESSONS
Sande School of Horsemanship provides year-round lessons for people of all ages who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. Lessons are offered in 30 and 45-minute time frames, providing one-on-one instruction while integrating students socially in a group riding environment and are catered to students' individualized needs.
We serve people with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Limited Mobility, Balance Impairment, Psychological Challenges and most other disabilities. According to research, horseback riding helps people with disabilities gain improvements with balance, strength, coordination, and postural control. In addition, the movement of the horse provides therapeutic benefits improving balance, hearing, visual, skin and joint sensory receptors.
